Dark Light will be the new album title!!! According to Finnish radio station Ylex daily pop news Ville´tells that HIM will play some new songs at the upcoming Summer festivals in Europe and Japan so if you are wondering wheter or not to go see HIM in Summer I think now you could hear new songs. The release date will be 26th September 2005 for the new album. He also tells that the first single will be Killing Loneliness or Under The Rose and will be released in August.
Alternative Press: In case you were wondering, here are some of HIM mastermind Ville Valo's thoughts. On his last minute lyric-writing: "Some call that lazy; I call it artistically inspiring". On what his band's new album will sound like: "Think of a cross between U2's Achtung Baby and AC/DC's Back In Black; or, not a cross between Metallica's St Anger and the entire recorded works of Coldplay." On being emotional but still metal: "We're five tall guys from Scandanavia. We can beat anyone's asses. But I do find myself watching SpongeBob Squarepants and weeping a lot... I think we're like Manowar, just more in touch with our femininity. You know how REM has Shiny, Happy, People? Well we're like Shiny Miserable People." On copy cat bands: "I'm bored with that...I think the best way to succeed is to create your own concepts." Which is something HIM has definitely done throughout their decade long career and with Valo and Co. wrapping up production on the hotly anticipated follow up to 2003's breakthrough Dark Light scheduled to come out September 26th via Sire, it's almost perfect all what Valo really has to say about the new disc, "It's the same as we've always done. Just a little better."
Rock am Ring Livestream Like last year you will be able to play a Livestream of "Rock am Ring", which includes every performance of the gigs at the centerstage. The gig at "Rock am Ring" will start on 05th June 2005 at 18:45h (German time) and so you can see online the gig of HIM at Rockpalast.de. View the Livestream!

H.I.M. Tap ANDY WALLACE To Mix New Album Finnish goth-metallers H.I.M. have reportedly tapped Andy Wallace (KORN, LINKIN PARK, LIMP BIZKIT, SLAYER) to mix their brand-new album, tentatively due in the fall via Sire. The mixing sessions will take place in New York City beginning this week. As previously reported, H.I.M. recorded the follow-up to 2003's "Love Metal" at Los Angeles' Paramour studios According to singer Ville Valo, the upcoming CD, which is being produced by Tim Palmer (who worked on the band's last album), will feature "really fast songs but with a melodic punky MISFITS feel to them." H.I.M.'s forthcoming album will be preceded by a single release in August. Ville Valo and his cohorts have also lined up a handful of European and Japanese festival appearances during the summer. H.I.M. and HMC (Helsinki Music Company) have reached an agreement to have all future H.I.M. albums released in Finland via the band's own Heartagram label. HMC is reportedly owned by Niko Nordström (former General Manager of BMG Finland) and Asko Kallonen (former A&R exec at BMG Finland). Kallonen has worked with H.I.M. since their first EP, "666 Ways to Love: Prologue". H.I.M. frontman Ville Valo is expected to sing backing vocals on one or two songs on the forthcoming BLOODHOUND GANG album. No further information is currently available. (taken from Blabbermouth).
